Chris James and Patrick Rynn, "Gonna Boogie Anyway"

I think this is the best blues CD of today's batch. These two guys make it sound easy, recreating tough and traditional blues in their own effortless style. James plays guitar and sings; Rynn brings along the bass. Sometimes they add some sax, sometimes some harp (Rob Stone), and some piano by the very fine David Maxwell and the legendary Henry Gray. They do okay as a duo, too on the classically acoustic "Black Spider Blues."
